Short summary: this shop was honest, did what they said they would, and actually went above & beyond for me. Longer description: I had my truck serviced the last two times by a major dealer in town for routine maintenance (multi-point inspection, tire rotation, oil change - part of a service bundle purchased at time of acquiring the truck), and as I was settling up for yesterday's service, the advisor informed that my transfer case was leaking pretty bad, recommending that I leave my vehicle there throughout the week so they could squeeze in a formal evaluation. Well, given I live almost 50 miles away and rely on this truck daily - let alone the associated costs associated w/a dealership and the lofty time-frame - I started calling around to get a second opinion on the situation. I got connected w/Joe at EAS, who recommended I drop by right then and there to get the truck inspected. He didn't try diagnosing the problem over the phone, never overcommitted with any solutions - rather, he set clear expectations that his team would take 30-45 minutes to inspect the truck and the transfer case specifically to see what solutions might be appropriate. Fast forward: Michael, a member of the EAS team, was able to identify a loose fill cap on the transfer case that was obviously causing a leak. He cleaned the transfer case, topped off the fluid, and both he/Joe recommended a cost-effective plan for monitoring the situation and coming back in for another inspection vs removing the transfer case & spearheading a costly service first. Joe and Michael could've easily sold me on a fix that wasn't necessary at the time, they were timely with the inspection & recommendations, and even advised how I should approach the dealer who initially flagged the issue [but never told me it was from a loose fill cap], given they were the only service team to get under the truck the last 2 times. As a person who isn't very knowledgeable with mechanics and has a healthy distrust for service shops from experience, it was a breath of fresh air to work with Joe and actually have a team deliver on what they said they would with honesty/integrity. Will definitely be visiting EAS for my service needs next.
